This is Phillip Adams. Brought to us thanks to his girlfriend Kathleen Grady (sorry ladies, he's taken), Phillip thought it would be fun to donate a few hours to helping us out. This generous effort turned into in 4 hours of work last Saturday, in which he did the following:ripped out, and completely cleaned up, a portion of the upstairs hallway ceiling:
Dismantled the remains of the traingle wall in the living room:

Carefully removed the pieces of the a kitchen window frame:

Shoveled and packed up the debris from the demo in the kitchen, swept the floor, and helped Travis with some measuring for moving the bathroom wall. All of this, in 4 hours. This is faster than Travis and I have done anything since we've been there. Travis and I were pretty irritable (discouraged) in the morning before Phillip showed up. By the end of the day, we were completely re-energized and being nice to each other again. Phillip, you are a saviour. And as a reward for all the wonderful work you did, we indenture you for every saturday for the next 2 months. As a follow-up, working on our house got Phillip so psyched that the next day he and Kathleen finally decided, after months of deliberating, to buy pursue buying a house together. I'm taking all the credit.
This has me thinking it would be interesting to hear couples' (friends, couples, spouses, etc) stories about buying and renovating houses together, and how it plays into their relationships.
